This 360 Smart Camera reference design combines powerful multisensors with advanced software and processors to support machine learning, 360-degree video capture and heterogeneous computing. The reference design, available for purchase as the QCS605 VR360 Camera from Altek Corporation, is ready for consumer and on-the-body applications as a sports/body/dash camera, home IP camera and 360-degree/virtual reality camera.

Inside the reference design is the Qualcomm® Vision Intelligence 400 Platform, blending superior image processing, artificial intelligence, audio and GPS for action sports and life logging, and for body camera applications. The platform is engineered for high compute at low power consumption in use cases like object classification, face/body detection and face recognition. It is designed to make heterogeneous computing accessible on its digital signal processor (DSP) for running dynamic neural networks (DNNs) and machine language inference.
The Qualcomm Vision Intelligence 400 Platform offers 4K Ultra HD video capture (60 FPS) and playback. Audio specifications include playback and record in PCM format and stereo/multichannel AAC encoding. The platform is engineered to support GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and Beidou systems. For virtual reality and 360-degree camera applications, it features spherical stabilization and dual camera sensors with hardware synchronization. Users can enjoy on-device photo stitching with static and dynamic equirectangular stitching of video. Hardware encryption and secure storage protect IP streaming of video.
The platform is based on the Qualcomm® QCS605 System-on-Chip (SoC), part of the family of Qualcomm Technologies SoCs built with the IoT in mind. In addition to the Qualcomm® Neural Processing SDK for AI and Qualcomm® Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engine, the Qualcomm QCS605 integrates GPS, power management ICs, audio codec support and connectivity over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
