Converting Hexagon HVX Examples to C++

I see that some have been building Hexagon HVX with C++. Anybody have a cookbook or basic steps to converting the examples to C++? Just mindlessly changing the extensions to .cpp doesn't seem to do it.

3.0 does not have the c++ support. Next release 3.1 will have it
