Hi,

I wanted to try out the adreno profiler to analyze my application which uses OpenGL ES 3.0. But the connect dialog gives error.

ADB : Found  a device, but no Adreno Prifiler-enabled app. Verifyyour app is running and network previleges have been enabled in the APK manifest.

Do i need to do someespecific changes to the manifest file? I have followingpermissons :

    <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.READ_LOGS"/>
    <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET"/>

Any pointers as to what am i missing?

There are some current issues blocking support of the Adreno Profiler with the Nexus 6.  We're expecting these to be resolved in the next Android L update for the device scheduled for early March 2015.

The profiler will work with Nexus 6 once it's been updated to Android 5.1

Hi, I have a Nexus 6 with Android 5.1 but I have exactly the same issues. Both required permissions are set:

    <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET" />
    <uses-permission android:name="com.qti.permission.PROFILER" />

But still the profiler always displayes the message:

ADB : Found  a device, but no Adreno Prifiler-enabled app. Verifyyour app is running and network previleges have been enabled in the APK manifest.

If I try to connect over IP the profiler displays: IP: no device found.

Is there some additional trouble shooting I could do? Are there any log files to look at to find out whats going wrong?

Kind Regards
Benjamin Thaut

What version of the profiler are you running? (make sure it's the latest available)

Make sure the profiler is running first and is ready to attach to the app when it starts.

Can you share the apk? - we can check as well.

Hi,

I'm using the Adreno Profiler 4.0.5511.5192 downloaded yesterday.

Yes I can share the APK. Please contact me under the registered e-mail adress so we can exchange the APK. Running the profiler first and then starting the App doesn't help either.

Kind Regards

I have a similar issue on my G4 / Nexus 5. It seems that Adreno Profiler 4.0 does not work with Android 5.x. When I use my Nexus 5 with Android 4.4.2, Adreno Profiler works well. However, after a Lollipop upgrade on my Nexus 5, Adreno Profiler also does not work as my G4. I have tested various apps including Antutu and my OpenGL ES apps, but the results are the same on the apps.

The issue is resolved for me now. The problem was that I had a custom compiled android (userdebug) to be able to debug native applications better. The binary driver package provided by the android open source project was missing the "libq3dtools_esx.so" located in "system/vendor/lib/egl". The fix for me was to copy the "libq3dtools_esx.so" from a factory image into the "system/vendor/lib/egl" folder on the device. After that the profiler worked just fine.

running the latest adreno profiler, i ahve the same issues. i can get neither Nexus 5(running 5.1.1) or Nexus 6 (5.1) to connect.

I have "android.permission.INTERNET" enabled, as well as the "com.qti.permission.PROFILER"

Any ideas if theres something else I need to do?

Has anyone had any luck with older versions of the profiler?

so not sure  the significance of /system/vendor/lib/egl/libq3dtools_esx.so but my devices don't have it - they do however have system/vendor/lib/egl/libq3dtools_adreno.so

after liberal use of "adb kill-server" and retrying, I finally got the Nexus 6 to detect the app, and connect.

However, although using the same method, i got the Nexus 5 to recognise my app, i couldn't profile it. It just hung on "connecting to.."

Very frustrating.

We've confirmed Nexus 5 is working fine with the Adreno Profiler.  We've tested on version 5.1.1 (LMY48B).

Make sure to first start the profiler and then start connecting.  Then start your app.  Make sure your app is actually using OpenGL and rendering.  On some apps you might need to force a graphics update by performing a touch input, etc.

I have been sucess to use com.cardboard.fps APK on nexus6 LMY48I stock ROM,

with lastest 4.0 Adreno Profiler,

with adb 1.0.32, with USB connection, it can works. show me a 0-14fps curve on app Gra

but  while I try to use wireless ADB, after cmd command

adb connect 192.168.100.101

in PC side, AdrenoProfiler.exe can detect the app connection,

but after I click its connect button, AdrenoProfiler.exe become freezed for 10minutes.

any Improvement can not wireless ADB also works?
