During the RB5 device setup procedure I ran the camx-hal3-test camera test. Result was a catch signal 11 (Segmentation Violation) which immediately halted the test and produced a trace and backtrace.
This kit only has the RB5 robotics software installed on it as when it was purchased.
Is this something that is worth trying to fix or should I reinstall the software through sdkmanager.

You dont need to reinstall firmware. Please follow the procedure to build and run camera_hal3 application:
