As of now there is no plan to support ARM embed OS for QCA4020.
Is there any path to make a formal request for MbedOS to be supported?
You can contact our product marketing team regarding MbedOS support.
What would it take to port MBed os for the QCA4020? Because the Arm cortex M4 itself is supported correct? So porting means porting all the communication layers? Or is there more to it?
CMSIS files and peripheral driver binaries need place such that the Mbed build tools can use them to build.
Wrappers for peripheral drivers need to be written so that the standard Mbed peripheral drivers can be used.
Same goes for network drivers.
All processor support needs to be tested via ARM's CI system before merged into master.
I've seen processor support added in about a month or so with support from ARM.
