Hello

We would like to demo recieving multicast packets to one custom device.

The custom device would have a lte module (that has embms enabled in the spec) and an embedded iot som.

The som will preferable run debian but we can create a custom android for it.

For the EPC part we will use a core in the lab.

questions:

questions:

1. Is there a way to demonstrate embms reception using debiam linux?

1.1 If yes, what is required on the debian linux in order to do so

1.2 if not, what is required on the android part? does  nxp imx-android-10.0 source has it all?

Thanks

Adi

Hello,

1.1: I don't have definite answer. Broadcast data reception happens from multicast IP layer. We've  to check with Data Team on the multicast support for Debian Linux.

1.2: To support embms atleast eMBMS Telephony service (4.x MW) or 5.x MW to be present there in Android source. If NXP is using vanilla Android source from Google, MW support may not be there (even other QC specific modules as well).

if you are an OEM which is using Qualcomm chip , you'll have access to the qualcomm support portal . You can raise a support ticket with the chipset details and we can provide more details to you

Thanks

Is there a reference board that you are aware of that can be used to test MBMS reception?

Thanks
