jtagdp_overrun_check(): DAP transaction stalled (WAIT) - slowing down

When debugging using: openocd --debug 3 -f qca402x_openocd.cfg

 

I'm hitting the following error:

 

Info : 1576 12925 adi_v5_jtag.c:486 jtagdp_overrun_check(): DAP transaction stalled (WAIT) - slowing down

Info : 1577 13031 adi_v5_jtag.c:486 jtagdp_overrun_check(): DAP transaction stalled (WAIT) - slowing down

Error: 1578 13137 adi_v5_jtag.c:376 jtagdp_overrun_check(): Invalid ACK (0) in DAP response

 

What is causing this error? How to diagnose it? Thanks.

The issue is with the version of openocd/ JTAG connection setup.
Make sure the bootstrap and JTAG pins are connected accurately
