Documents referred:
EVK User guide 80-WL431-22 Rev. B
Porting Guide 80-YC636-1 Rev. B

We've tested the WiFi (over SDIO) and BT (over UART) basic functionality with QCA9377-3 EVK.
  1. WiFi worked with SDIO powered (Internal power) and not working with external power input. SDIO card is not getting detected with external power supply.
  2. BT was working with external power (using 3.3v AC/DC adapter provided with the EVK)
We would like to test WiFi + BT concurrent operation and tried with both internal (SDIO) and external power option. Unfortunately, it did not work as mentioned in above #1 and #2

Does BT work only with external power supply and doesn't work with SDIO power input?
Could you please help test concurrent WiFi and BT operations with QCA9377-3.

Thanks

Hi Sridhar,

QCA9377-3 BT and Wi-Fi both should work concurrently from the internal power supplied by SDIO port. This is known to be working on our side.

Thanks.

But, not working for us. Same menu (as given in the porting guide) is coming to us when we run the BT evaluation app. But, BT radio is not ON. Do we need to use different firmware for coex or same firmware would work. Did you verify coex(simultaneous wifi and BT) with the same QDN release package!

Hi Deepak,

It is working when we compile BT stack after every system bootup.

With external power supply it used to work without compiling BT stack every bootup.

It seems some configuration files are getting changed after system reboot.

We are not sure what exactly causing this issue.

Thanks,

Sridhar

Please ignore the above post. The behaviour is not consistent.

Thanks,

Hi Sridhar,

The release on QDN has already been verified to be working. Could you please let me know which laptop/platform are you using?

Thanks.

Hi Deepak,

Please find our test setup details below:

-HP Elitebook 8460p laptop

-Ubuntu 14.04 with 4.4.15 kernel version

-WB396 EVK

-TB719 connector for bluetooth HCI UART

1. Also please let us know where can I find BLE evaluation applications. Current BT app has only BT classic apps.

2. Can you please specify which PC/laptop you have used at your end as x86 host?

3. Does firmware need any specific command to configure or enable the Wi-Fi + BT coexistense?

4. Does SDIO detect with external power supply. It's not getting detected for us.

5. Do we need to recompile the whole kernel if we would like to test with new QDN package.

Thanks,

Sridhar

Hi sridhar,

As you have mention BT and WLAN is working individually.

Could you please share try below and share me the logs and your setup image.

1. connect QCA9377-3 EVK to SDIO (WLAN) and UART (BT) both. then turn on the WLAN and then turn ON the BT.

Don't apply external power supply first.

2. share me the "logread -f" logs and snap shot of the connection setup you have done.

Regards,

Matadeen Mishra
