Does Snapdragon 410C supports Voice Activation?

Hi, 

I have a requirement where I'm supposed to detect a specific passphrase and then start recording the audio on Snapdragon 410c development platform. 

But based on the material available, it seems that voice activation model is only available on Premimun Tier SoC (Snapdragon 800 series) with and requires support for HVX and since 410 doesn't support HVX, maybe there is another way to detect the wake-up passphrase locally using aDSP on 410. 

If yes, please guide how to enable the same on Linux. My preferred OS is Linux Debian Distribution.

Hi Dhruv:

As you have correctly noted the low-power voice activation is only available on the premuim tier chipsets, the 410E processor used on the 410c DragonBoard does not have the necessary built-in hardware to achieve the very low power consumption wakeup you are looking for. If you are willing to use significantly more power, then you can leave a processor always on and listening for your keywords.

There are a few Debian Packages that do speech recognition, such as pocketsphinx.

Thank you for the response, that helps! 

Although, it would be good if you can shed some light on the following queries as well.

  1. It would be great if you can point out a certain hardware capable of doing the same. Based on my exploration it seems that Snapdragon 652 processor supports Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ Voice Activation technology. Can I achieve the same using this processor? 
  2. If yes, can I feed my custom "Wake-up keyword" for Snapdragon 652 hardware? Based on my exploration, it seems that we have to enroll in some special program with Qualcomm for the custom Keyword support. Also, is the custom keyword detection using Voice Activation Technology supported on Linux platform?
