Hello, I am trying to connect the Snapdragon profiler (version 1.5.2.8032016) to a Galaxy Note 4 running Android version 5.0.1. We can get it to connect via USB, but this does not meet our needs as we are trying to optimize a Gear VR app which requires the USB port. The device shows in ADB when wireless and is seen in the connect dialog; but after pressing the connect button the device always times out, regardless of the timeout length. We are certain the wireless network matches - we have succesfully profiled the device wirelessly in Unity.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
Eric Hurd
Hi Eric,
Do you have a firewall running on your PC that may be blocking incoming connections? The Snapdragon Profiler service that runs on the target device needs to be able to make a connection to the PC, so please disable firewalls or anything else that may be blocking the connection and see if that fixes your problem. If not, can you capture a logcat from the device after you try to connect and post it here? That will help us diagnose the problem.
Thanks.
Eric
That may be the case - is there any way to get the profiler to accept a connection from another port? I've moved the device set up to port 55055 through ADB, but the profiler thinks it's wire-connected...
There is currently no way to change the ports used by Snapdragon Profiler, but in the next release we've added a user setting to configure that. That release (1.5.3) should be available in the next week or two.
Thank you for your swift replies.
