Invent-Off Season 2

For season 2 of Invent-Off, we gave two teams of makers, coders and inventors access to our technologies and this year’s challenge: Use the Internet of Things to create something that saves a life.

Central to the tech was the DragonBoard™ 410c development board by Arrow Electronics, featuring the 64-bit, quad-core A53 Snapdragon® 410 processor.  The credit-card sized board supports Android 5.1 (Lollipop) on Linux Kernel 3.10, Linux based on Debian 8.0, Windows 10 IoT Core, with planned support for Ubuntu Core.

In addition, we provided them access to the LG G5, featuring a Snapdragon 820 processor. This brand new design has a metal uni-body and features a slide-out battery and a modular type design you can combine with a collection of companion devices to transform it into a digital camera, Hi-Fi player and more.

We also provided the teams with an array of components and sensors to connect with the DragonBoard 410c. This included 96Boards compliant mezzanine boards – the same open hardware specification that DragonBoard 410c is based on. Here’s what was in the inventor toolkit:
