Is it possible to use OMX encoder on a customer android tablet?

I am looking for method to use OMX to do the encode job on Samsung tablet and Nexus.

In NDK, Google provide a sample 'native-media' which can decode video using OMX. But according to the documention, it doesn't support encode. I found this https://developer.qualcomm.com/forum/qdevnet-forums/multimedia-optimization-qdsp/12520 when I look at the internet. According to that, it seems that we can do the encoding work.

Anyway, that post is very old, so I open a new one. Anyone could give me a hint? Could we use the OMX encode function on Android? And how?
