This error is because the Java version is too high, the installation of the 1.7 version uninstall the issue of the release of the 1.8 version is solved

Install with compatibilty mode for Windows 8. That worked for me.

Compatibility mode with Window 8 does not work for me.

Any other ideas?

Hello,

I faced the same issue and found a solution here.

I used the approach mentioned at the very bottom.
Installing a verion 1.7 Java runtime and using the command line/PowerShell to pass the java path to the installer.
