Quick Start Guide - Overview

The Qualcomm® Robotics RB1 and Qualcomm® Robotics RB2 Development Kits are robotics kits for OEMs, ODMs, and developers. They are powered by the Qualcomm® QRB2210 and Qualcomm® QRB4210 System on Chip (SoC). After following along with this guide, you’ll be ready to start building practical AI applications, entry level robots, and much more.

QRB2210 is Qualcomm Technologies low-tier processor for robotic applications. QRB2210 includes the following key components:

  • Customized 64‑bit Cortex-A53 Quad-core applications processor at 2.0 GHz.
  • Qualcomm® Adreno™ 702 GPU at 845 MHz at 64-bit addressing for the highest in graphics performance and power efficiency.
  • Dedicated DSP – QDSP v66, shared between Snapdragon® Sensor Core and low-power audio system.
  • Qualcomm Spectra™ 340L image processing engine for the ultimate photography and videography experiences
  • Adreno 920 DPU for on-device and external ultra-HD display support
  • Wireless connectivity provided by WCN3910 1x1 802.11b/g/n and Qualcomm® WCN3950 1x1 802.11a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth® 5.0
  • Dual Channel non-PoP high speed memory, LPDDR4X SDRAM designed for 1804 MHz clock (2x16bit) and LPDDR3 SDRAM designed for 933 MHz clock (1x32 bit)

QRB4210 is also a low-tier processor from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. for robotic applications. QRB4210 includes the following key components:

  • Customized 64 bit v-8.0 compliant applications processor (Qualcomm® Kryo™ 260 CPU)
  • Adreno GPU 610 at 950 MHz with 64bit addressing for the highest in graphics performance and power efficiency.
  • Qualcomm® Hexagon™ DSP with Hexagon Vector eXtensions (HVX) (dual HVX at 1.0 GHz)
  • Qualcomm Spectra 340T image processing engine for the ultimate photography and videography experiences
  • Adreno 921 DPU display for on-device and external ultra-HD display support
  • Wireless connectivity provided by WCN3988 1x1 802.11b/g/n/ac , Bluetooth 5.1 and FM
  • Dual Channel non-PoP high speed memory, LPDDR4X SDRAM designed for 1866 MHz clock (2x16bit) and LPDDR3 SDRAM designed for 933 MHz clock (1x32 bit)

The Qualcomm Robotics RB1 and Qualcomm Robotics RB2 platforms support the development of smart, power-efficient, and cost-effective robots. The platforms use heterogeneous computing and support on-device machine learning, computer vision, robust security, multimedia, Wi-Fi, and cellular connectivity capabilities.
