System requirements indicate that Mac/Linux support is "coming soon".  Is there any indication of when that might be available?  Or is there any other way of using Snapdragon Profiler on Mac/Linux?  I know that Adreno Profiler is basically a Windows app that uses the Mono framework to run on other platforms.  I was hoping that this profiler might be set up in a similar way.  Any insights would be welcome.  Thanks.

Hi Gary,

We're working on Snapdragon Profiler for Mac OS X now. If all goes as planned, it should be available by early September. The Linux version will follow.

Thanks Rick.  That would be excellent.  Is there any way to be notified when this is released?  Or do I have to just keep checking back?

1. Adreno Profiler has been available for Macintosh for a while now. You can download it here. If you have problems installing it, there is a good thread on installation in this forum post

  • Here is an excerpt from that post:
  • In order to run Adreno Profiler the following two dependencies need to be installed: * Mono Framework 2.10.5 It is important to get that particular version of the Mono Framework and can be downloaded from the link below:
  •
  • Steps:
  • - Download Mono Framework 2.10.5 from http://mono-project.com/OldReleases
  • - Mount the .dmg image by clicking it on the finder.
  • - Double click the Mono Framework 2.10.5 .pkg file and follow the installer instructions. * xQuartz
  • - Download latest xQuartz fromhttp://xquartz.macosforge.org/landing/
  • - Mount the .dmg image by clicking it on the finder.
  • - Double click the XQuartz.pkg file and follow the installer instructions.
  •
  • To Run Adreno Profiler in OS X:
  • 1. Verify ADB is available in your system PATH
  • 2. Open a Terminal window
  • 3. Navigate to the location where the Adreno Profiler.app bundle is installed
  • 4. Use the open command 'open AdrenoProfiler.app' to run Adreno Profiler
  •

If anyone is wondering if Snapdragon Profiler is available for Mac OS. It is as well.  You can download it here
