UBO bad performance

I am benchmarking the performance of uniform buffer object (UBO) to provide a large array to my shader on a LG nexus 5X. My expection is that I should get similar performace as using uniform array. However, the result shows that the performance of using UBO drops half. I was wondering if I am doing something wrong or UBO is indeed slower than uniform array.
