Hi,

I need to develop an application that will be using hardware tessellation.

Does the Adreno 430 support GLES 3.1 _and_ AEP, (GL_ANDROID_extension_pack_es31a) ?

I will be developing the application on a Xperia Z5 device.

Thanks for your insight,
MF

Yes...just make sure the driver/build on the device is current.

Still wondering WHY any Adreno 405 has neither OpenGL ES 3.1 nor EAP support, although is it was advertised as "Open GL ES 1.x, 2.0, 3.0, 3.1, TS & GS3.1" capable, as show at https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon/gpu

Isn't a "false advertising" case ? Nvidia was hit with a class action lawsuit Thursday that claims it misled customers about the capabilities of the GTX 970, which was released in September/2015.  ( http://www.pcworld.com/article/2887234/nvidia-hit-with-false-advertising... )

Please, don't make the same mistake. Please, release a user installable driver with GL-ES 3.1 driver for Adreno 405 !

Adreno 430 does support GLES 3.1/AEP.  Generally it is up to the device manufacturers/OEMS to provide builds with current drivers and our expectation is that all Android M builds will include this support.

I'm glad to say that Motorola's  Android 6.0 update for devices powered with Snapdragon 615 / Adreno 405 comes with OpenGL ES 3.1 AND GL_ANDROID_extension_pack_es31 !
