Hi,
I'm also keen to get an update on this. I haven't read anywhere that it's not supported but with my own experience and Graeme's question I'm assuming support isn't currently there for Nexus 7 2013?
For info, when I try to connect I get the following message:
'WARNING! ADB found a device, but no Adreno Profiler enabled applications can be found. If you app is running..'
Cheers,
Richard
There were some issues with Profiler support in the latest Nexus 7 software. It should be fixed in the next official update, but in the meantime, you can install the user mode driver from https://developer.qualcomm.com/mobile-development/maximize-hardware/mobi.... It's actually what we use internally.
Thanks for the info Dave - do you have an ETA on the next official update? I'm not sure installing the user mode driver is an option for me..
That's probably a better question for Google. In general, our driver (including the Profiler layer) is under constant development, but ultimately it's our customers who determine when and if those enhancements and bug fixes will get picked up and pushed out commercially.
Hi Dave,
I tried installing the user mode driver from https://developer.qualcomm.com/mobile-development/maximize-hardware/mobi.... , after installing the latest KOT49H factory ROM for the devices, and I still cannot connect to my application.
where can I get more info to troubleshoot the issue ?
Thx,
Antoine
Are you able to profile other applications on your Nexus 7? What messages do you get in the connection dialog?
I fixed the issue. I actually had to start the profiler after starting the application and the GLES workload.
Thanks for the answer
Antoine
This thread hasn't been updated in a while. What's the status of profiler support on gen2 Nexus 7 devices? Is it supported with Android 5.1? Does the user mode driver work on that version of Android?
When I try to use it (nexus7 gen 2 android 5.1.1) I can connect to my application with some difficulty, but it fails to capture a frame. I get the following error messages in logcat:
My app uses GLES 3.0
Thanks in advance.
Adreno Profiler v4 is working fine with the Nexus 7 tablet (w/Android 5.1)
Well, FWIW, I couldn't get it to work (android 5.1.1 and adreno profier vers 4.0.5511.5192). But when I reverted to older version of android and installed user mode driver it worked without incident.
BTW, is there someplace where current state of the profiler for different devices is tracked? I don't see any mention of Nexus 7 in release notes but obviously there has been some tracking of this issue amongst the devs.
