Is there a way to send out probe request packets to APs on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz band?
Usually, when a module scans for APs, it should send probe request but instead the QCA4020 seems to just be listening to beacon frames from APs.
I need to be able to be able to send the probe request so that I can see the packets on my monitoring radios.

QCA4020 will send probe request in case of active scan/ connection sequence.
Kindly try below instructions using QCLI_demo to verify probe request on sniffer capture:
> wlan enable
> wlan setdevice 1
> wlan scan <SSID> // active scan with SSID
> wlan connect <SSID> // Attempting connection to SSID.
In both the cases, QCA4020 will send probe requests on both 2.4 and 5GHz band channels.
