I have a product that uses the CSR8675. DFU mode is entered by holding a button on the device and connecting a USB cable.

I want to try some tweaks to its firmware but I don't want to brick the device as I have no way to reprogram it other than via DFU mode. My question is - if my firmware changes don't work is it possible for the firmware to break DFU mode or is DFU mode implemented in ROM and thus executes before the firmware is loaded?
