Hi All

I have a production ongoing where Im using the Blue test 3 suite together with the USB to SPI Babel-fish Programmer.

This is used to program some BC3 and BC8 products like CSR8811, ect.

In production setup Im using both PStool and Blue test for setup.

In a new setup Im planning to expand to parallel lines where I have looked at DK-USB-SPI-10225-1A programming kit instead of the babel-fish due to cost.

Any Idea if this will work with the Blue suite, like PS-tool and Bluetest3 with the 8811 chips, since in the datasheet is only mention uENERGY chips. ?

Hi,

The DK-USB-SPI-10225-1A board will allow you to use PSTools and BlueTest3 over the debug SPI transport, however note that this board requires that the PIOs are at 3.0V, if not then you will need external level shifters if VDD_PADS on your design is not at 3.0V.

Yes, the VDD_PADS rail on the DK-USB-SPI-10225-1A programming board is at 3.0V which means the IO's are at 3.0V.  If your design has the IO at 1.8V, then you will need an external level shifter.

We have another Babel called the "flat babel" (search for DK-CSR1000-10086-1A on Digikey) which gives you the option to select between 1.8V or 3.3V for the debug SPI connection but this kit is a bit more than the lower cost version of the programmer.

Regards,

Expanding to parallel lines in a new setup can be an exciting venture. When considering the DK-USB-SPI-10225-1A programming kit instead of the Babel-Fish due to cost, there are a few factors to keep in mind:

Compatibility: Ensure that the DK-USB-SPI-10225-1A programming kit is compatible with the devices and systems you intend to work with. Check the supported protocols and specifications to ensure it meets your requirements.

Functionality: Compare the features and functionalities of both the DK-USB-SPI-10225-1A and the Babel-Fish. Make sure the programming kit you choose can perform the tasks you need efficiently and effectively.

Support and Documentation: Consider the availability of technical support and documentation for the programming kit. Having access to proper support and documentation can be invaluable during setup and troubleshooting.
