Hello,

For some reason we can't connect the Adreno porfiler to application runs on Huawei U8230 device. All requried steps are performed but still no luck. There is no any problems with Nexus One with same application.

The Huawei U8230 has the Adreno 130 Graphic core inside and this core supported by the Adreno Profiler according to documentation. What we should do to get things working normally ?

Best regards, Alexey Kryshen

Could you please take a look inside of your /system/lib folder on your device.  Look for a file called libhgl.so.  Pull it from your device and search through the .so file for any instances of ‘Profiler’.  One sample function name you would see would be qglToolsQXRegisterWithProfilerApp.

If you don’t see this file, look for a folder /system/lib/egl/q3dtools.so .

If you don’t see either of these, then the profiler instrumentation is unfortunately not on the device.  We do our best to get into every release we can but unfortunately some devices are missed.  If you do see either of these, we will try to take a look at some other possible root causes.

Thank you Steve for this hint, I believe it may be very useful for us in future in a case of issues with other devices. Device actually support the profiling and we finally was able to connect it to Adreno profiler.

Note that with the latest version of Profiler (uploaded to the website last week) we do more to detect and diagnose connection problems. Profiler is under very active development and updated on a regular basis, so watch for new releases here.
