Hey Qualcomm.. :D

First of all thanks for creating such awesome cpu's etc. you have been doing great job. we are grateful for the effort u put. As android 4.0 is released and requires hardware acceleration thus needs gpu drivers, i request you to pls provide the binaries and drivers for msm7227 cpu's. Hope you listen to us and release the required drivers for our dev's to continue the development. Thank you!

Hello, Qualcomm,
also add support for other libs adreno 200 with ARMv6.
Handset manufacturer to ignore us and you are the only ones who can help us.
Thank you for all that you are asking.

Dear Qualcomm,

Thank you so much for releasing the Adreno 2xx libs for ICS. Unfortunately, these seem to work exclusively on ARM7 devices, i.e no MSM7227/Turbo chipsets.

(

As a fellow developer, I am asking you to please release the Adreno Libs for MSM7227 (ArmV6), as they would benefit a very large amount of devs with the above phones. You've done it once, please do it again.

Best Regards,

Dear Qualcomm,

By releasing the gpu drivers for armv7 devices, You have made it easier for developers to bring the complete experiance of ICS to a lot of greatful and happy users. We thank You for that. If you would, kindly, do the same for armv6 devices, it's going to be beneficial for You as well as us. Seeing the 3 year old msm7227 chipset fully run the newest version of Android will show smartphone users that your products are awesome and make them consider buying a smartphone that features them, knowing that the device will continue to be updated thanks to your customer support and the help of all the great android developers, even when manufacturers decide that the device isn't capable of running the current os. Please help our tired old handsets get Ice Cream Sandwich by releasing the armv6 drivers. We would apreciate it.

Best Regards

wouldnt it be easier to release source codes and have us do it ourselfs so we dont have to bother them again?? and i think that option would be prefered. we're not up to anything bad with there codes all where trying to do is improve the phones useing the chipsets and qualcomm would have open access to the work we do with it too and could thus improve there work couldnt they?? i mean. we no ask them for money. lol. we do it on our own time and they actually benifit!!... thought a company would love ppl working for them for free, wether indirectly or directly. and still we'd have them to thank. it would influence a lot of us on our next phone purchase if we could actually have the companies backing.what are they planning to do with the drivers\source code?? out of date them then keep them in a file till forever? that would be sad.... :(... know you have patent and so, but with your permission please we'll get to working. :)

Dear Qualcomm!

You made great job releasing ICS-ready Adreno 2xx user-space drivers for ARMv7 and we are very greatful for that! But please do one step more and release also this drivers for older MSM7227(T) chipsets which are ARMv6. I am sure you can do it and make your devices even more awsome! Thank you in advance for releasing them (as I belive You WILL do it!).

Please release Adreno 200 driver for MSM7227 ARMV6 chipset so developers can compile ICS for similar hardware based devices !

Our phone should deserve better gaming/overall performance with such a good hardware :D

If Qualcomm do release driver for us, I will consider to buy Qualcomm chipset based phone next time !

Thanks in advanced,

thanks dave. well apreciated sir..... you believe android phones were made to truly be open source and improved by anyone who can dont you???..................

lol kidding not gonna put you on the spot... lol. it was though >.>   take away the android experience and you know whats gonna happen.... every android fan wants an android phone. if you cant get that freedom of customizing it (including porting and moding and so on) your android device. then thats not truley an android... android is suppose to be versitile and open source... not shallow and restricted. (or criple) times are changing. eventualy (if not already) there will be an android based device with all its resources open source and there gonna run the market...  unless others start doing the same thing thus giving them competition.

It would be much apreciated by the community. And if I buy my next smartphone I decide
to choose one with the Qualcomm chipset because you won't let us down now!

@Dave

Thank you so much for the response, but let me clarify it. You mean you will actually release it and we only have to be patient? Correct me if Im wrong. Coz we can really wait as long as you release it in time..

Thank you.

@Mika_Dee

I think Dave meant that the request has been noticed by Qualcomm but it needs a permission from "up" to made it true.

It still a big step - if we keep showing our engagement in the development for Qualcomm chipsets then their should listen to our voice.

And for Qualcomm guys:

Thanks for all you have already done and in advance for everything you will do to make it happen

In order to provide enthusiasts with recent improvements made to Snapdragon's Adreno graphics driver for the 7x27 based on the ARMv6 ISA, Qualcomm has posted the updated Adreno 200 graphics driver binaries here. It has been tested with the Ice Cream Sandwich CAF release M8960AAAAANLYA1030, but Qualcomm is providing these driver binaries "as is" to those of you who have requested them.

Thanks Qualcomm a lot. will definitely buy a qualcomm chipset next, device probably an xperia s. we love you a lot. you couldnt had released it or you could had released it. you went for the latter, thats how a company should be, never leave their customers thinking that why i bought this device or chipset (like i think why i bought samsung). you have shown the support towards the devs and all of us who wants ics on our device. iam pretty much sure Qualcomm will become the no 1 chipmaker in the whole world in the coming years. we all love you and will support you in the coming years. best wishes for the "peoples company".

Hi Dave

We would like to get OpenMax Codecs for Arm V6!

With this codecs, on the ICS ROMS for our devices, we will finally have a decent camera on our smartphone, we will be able to use the Panoramic Mode, HQ on Youtube, HW acceleration mode for the videos, and much more!

inorder to get a fully working rom we would like to get openmax codecs for v6. this will be the last help we will be asking from you guys. on the road qualcomm have helped us a lot, we have everything including cam working and we would like to get our video working too. Thanks

For OpenMax, I suggest you post in the Multimedia forum. That would involve an entirely different group than those involved with the Adreno GPU.

Dear Qualcomm,

I would like to kindly ask for a developer version of the drivers fully compatible with Jelly Bean Android releases. It would be very much appreciated if an "as is" version of the drivers is released to us developers.

I am sure I am speaking in behalf of every user of your armv6 adreno200 products. On the other hand I am sure a release of the binaries or the source code will again boost the trust in qualcomm products for their superb expertise in listening to community wishes and give assurance while buying new qualcomm products to choose these over other companies.

I am sure Qualcomm too wants to say, hey look even our armv6 devices are running a fully featured JB version.

Thank you for your understanding, if possible reply in this thread about your decision.

cheers

Unfortunately, the ICS binaries that we previously released will be the final ARMv6 release. We will continue to support future versions of Android for ARMv7 (a beta JB binary is already available).
