Meeting of the Minds 2015 Hackathon
Calling All Meeting of the Minds Civic Hack Participants
Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. will be making available a limited number of DragonBoard™ 410c development boards teams participating in the Civic Hack to develop on. Based on a Snapdragon® 400 series processor, the DragonBoard 410c features advanced processing power, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity, and GPS, all packed into a board the size of a credit card. Here are the details and links to resources you’ll need, and if you haven’t done so already, register now for the Meeting of the Minds 2015 Hack.
The Hack Kit
Each team participating in the challenge will be able to check out one hack kit containing:
- DragonBoard 410c: Arrow Electronics
- Webcam: Live! Cam Sync, Creative Labs, see USB Camera Application Notes for tips on enabling a camera
- Breadboard with jumper wires: IB401 400-point Experiment Breadboard, microtivity
- Touchscreen display: LILLIPUT 10.1" FA1012-NP/C/T 16:9 LED Capacitive Multi-touchscreen monitor
- Digital light sensor: Seeed Grove Digital Light Sensor, see Grove Digital Light I2C Sensor Application Note for tips on enabling this
- Gesture sensor: Seeed Grove Gesture Sensor
- Wireless keyboard with touchpad: Logitech Wireless Touch Keyboard K400
- Voltage-level translator: SparkFun Voltage-Level Translator Breakout - TXB0104
- UART -USB Cable: TE-C0344 UART to USB adapter cable, using the Prolific PL2303HXD chipset, see Connecting the UART to USB Adapter Application Note for tips on connecting this cable
- Micro SD cards, one with Linux and one with Android for your selection of OS
- Micro USB to USB cable

- Linux installation – select the Micro SD card with Linux from your hack kit and follow the instructions in the DragonBoard 410c Linux User Guide to install from a microSD card, skipping the initial download steps because we’ve done that work for you.
- Android installation – select the Micro SD card with Android from your hack kit and follow the instructions in the DragonBoard 410c Android User Guide to install from a microSD card, skipping the initial download steps because we’ve done that work for you.
