Hi,
I just installed the new 3.2 version of Adreno profiler and succesfully modified a simple Direct3D application according to the instructions in the help file.Adreno profiler connects to my application (running in a Samsung ATIV tablet) but I am having lot of problems with the functionality
- - In grapher window only the frame rate is displayed correctly, all other metrics show 0
- - When I try to capture a frame in scrubber, the profiler stops responding and is killed by Windows
Any idea what might be wrong in my environment? Is there any example project that is known to be correctly instrumented?
Hi,
For the grapher metrics problem, I would suggest updating WindowsRT on your device. You may be missing some critical driver side changes that are available in the latest Windows updates. If that doesn't work, please let us know.
About the profiler crash, we haven't seen this before. Since you could connect to the app from the profiler, I would say that you are setup correctly. It would be helpful if you could please send us a call stack. Try running the app in debug and deploy from Visual Studio to get an accurate call stack.
As for the example app, you can use any of the Adreno SDK samples to test this setup. I prefer using the BumpReflectionMapping sample. You would have to set it up to be used with the profiler.
Hi,
and thanks for the suggestions. I tried updating everything from both Windows update as well as by selecting "Update driver" from the device manager but didn't find any Adreno related updates. The display driver version in my tablet is 9.14.1146.2100 and it is dated 10.10.2012 so it seems to be quite old... where could I find a newer version of the driver?
Hi,
There should be a newer version of the driver with the metrics fixes availble through the windows update.
This should get you the version 9.14.1148.500 dated 01/29/2013.
Please us know if you still see issues with metrics.
Thanks.
Hi,
I cannot see the update, I have tried both with Windows Update and updating the Adreno 225 driver from Device manager, and both just say that my SW is up to date. Still I am having version 9.14.1149.2100.
