In Scubber v2.x, is there a way to make the main window splitter horizontal instead of vertical? I'm using this with a smartphone resolution which is tall, not wide (i.e. 480x800). A veritcal splitter makes me waste lots of space on either side of the render window.

Currently, no, this is not something you can do, but we can look at adding it in a future release.
