QDN Platform Resources at a Glance

You’ve probably noticed on Qualcomm Developer Network (QDN) that we offer dozens of tools and technical resources. We have HDKs and reference designs, SDKs and tools, blogs, eBooks, sample projects built using our technologies, as well as software forums and hardware forums. You’d be forgiven for feeling overwhelmed deciding where to get started for a given platform and knowing which tools work in concert with that platform.

To help navigate the offerings available on QDN, we thought we’d sum them up for you in this blog.

Software and Tools at a Glance

As the table above shows, many of our hardware platforms are supported by multiple SDKs and tools. Depending on the specific use case you’re trying to solve, you might apply some or all of those resources to a given hardware platform. For example, our Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 865 mobile platform, a premium tier product, can be used for a wide variety of applications including gaming, IoT, AI/machine learning, and cross reality (XR). It also offers features like power efficiency facilities and accelerated vector processing that developers can programmatically control. For example, a developer using this platform for AI might choose to use our Qualcomm® Neural Processing SDK for AI, Snapdragon Power Optimization SDK, and Snapdragon Profiler to start, and then integrate our additional SDKs and tools later in the project.

Tips:

  • If you haven’t yet chosen a hardware platform, we recommend visiting the Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. (QTI) web site (www.qualcomm.com) to understand which platform is optimally designed for your application.
  • Next visit the Hardware section in our main navigation on QDN to determine if an applicable HDK or reference design is available for your chosen platform. Note: our list of hardware on QDN represents a subset of total products on our main web site because support resources are provided for a select number of products and technologies from QTI.
  • Finally, identify which SDKs and tools to use that best support your application by navigating to QDN’s Software menu, also available through our main navigation.

Bringing it all together

Together with our QTI web site, QDN can help you decide which of our hardware platforms is most appropriate for your application. With the rich set of HDKs, reference designs, SDKs, and tools available on QDN, it helps to see all of these resources at a glance and how they can be applied for different use cases.
